Site Preparation and Grading
Site Preparation and Grading in Waco
Every build starts with the dirt underneath it, and Thescientistvideo shapes raw Waco lots to the engineer’s grading plan before a single footing is poured. We strip and stockpile topsoil, move earth with cut and fill, and grade rough to finish with laser and GPS control so pad elevations and drainage slopes land exactly where the plan calls for them. Then we compact the subgrade and prove it, along Valley Mills Drive and across McLennan County.
Why Grading Done Right Matters
- Drainage. Positive slopes carry water away from the structure instead of pooling against it.
- Stable subgrade. A compacted base keeps slabs and pavement from settling and cracking later.
- Fewer surprises. Reading the clay up front prevents swell-and-shrink problems down the road.
Our Process
We review the grading plan, strip topsoil, and balance cut and fill across the site. Machine grade control keeps us on plan while we shape slopes and pad elevations. Then we compact the subgrade in lifts and test toward 95 percent of maximum dry density, handing you the numbers in writing before we call it done.
